The OdonAssist is a novel inflatable device designed to facilitate assisted vaginal birth (AVB) as a safer, more user-friendly alternative to forceps, vacuum extractors, and emergency cesarean section. Unlike traditional AVB tools, it uses a circumferential air cuff to gently grip the fetal head, distributing pressure evenly and minimizing trauma. Clinical trials have shown the OdonAssist to be effective, with low rates of maternal and neonatal complications, low or no neonatal pain, and high user and maternal satisfaction. Its ease of use across all fetal head positions, lack of negative-pressure-related injuries, and no typical device-related pattern of neonatal superficial injury provides a potentially significant advancement in obstetric care.
