Bone and Joint Disorders
摘要
Connective tissue diseases (CTD) are a heterogeneous group of autoimmune, multisystem, chronic inflammatory diseases that mostly affect women in childbearing age, requiring specialized care to prepare prior to conception, follow up the pregnancy more elaborately to detect and prevent maternal and fetal complications. After reviewing literature on the pregnancy outcomes (maternal and fetal outcomes), it is sufficient to say that CTDs create numerous complications. In this chapter, we have reviewed sources from 2018 to 2023, to describe the impact of maternal CTD on pregnancy outcomes, the preconception counselling, intrapartum and postpartum care. However, favorable pregnancy outcomes and eventless pregnancy can be achieved with elaborate pregnancy planning, optimizing disease activity, closely following up pregnancy and providing specialized level of care.
