It is essential to note that undernutrition and overnutrition relatively affect the mother and the child who have implication in terms of underdeveloped behavior, poor immunity, low birth weight, and sometimes leading to spontaneous abortion. Identifying the critical factors through familial history, periodical BMI tests, and blood sample investigations can help at a greater extent in identifying the risk factors through early prognosis of nutritional deficiencies. Understanding the need of balanced intake of dietary micronutrients aids in proper development of the fetus and supports the nutritional health throughout the gestational period.
