The rise of centralized social media platforms has resulted in several critical issues, including concerns around data privacy, arbitrary censorship, and the creation of echo chambers that limit the diversity of public discourse. These platforms retain control over user data, enabling its exploitation for profit through targeted advertising, while simultaneously limiting user autonomy by enforcing opaque and often biased content moderation policies. In response to these challenges, this paper introduces SprechX, a decentralized and transparent social media platform designed to empower users. By leveraging blockchain technology, SprechX provides users with full control over their personal data, ensures censorship-resistant moderation, and promotes a more inclusive range of viewpoints in online discussions. This paper outlines how SprechX offers an innovative solution to the shortcomings of existing centralized platforms, aiming to transform the dynamics of online public discourse by returning control to the users.
