Esther David escaped from her hardships of Hasidic life without any resources. She was recommended to an organization named “ Footsteps.” It was a non-profit that assisted in the transition from a Hassidic to a secular life. As an adult, her education was at the fifth-grade level. Her new educational life landed her into medical school and an anesthesiology residency at 50 years of age. A 52-year-old gentleman was transferred to Trinity for atrial fibrillation. He was treated with medical management. At a later clinic visit, he was visibly short of breath. An echocardiogram revealed an ejection fraction of 20% An AICD was placed. Over a short period of time, the device became infected and was removed. Bilateral Stellate blocks improved his CHF and atrial fibrillation.
