Amniotic Fluid Embolism
摘要
After a normal labor and delivery, the mother of a newborn had a full cardiovascular collapse one hour after delivery. While an AFE is a diagnosis of exclusion, it appears to be a classic case. Amniotic fluid, fetal cells, hair, and other debris entered into the maternal pulmonary circulation leading to severe pulmonary hypertension, ECMO and a right ventricular assist device.
