This chapter examines the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in education and the impact of generative AI tools on the project performance of engineering students enrolled in the deep learning module. Furthermore, this study shows how AI tools improve students’ software development process, facilitating code generation, optimization, and finalization. The research included 124 engineering students enrolled in the Computer and Network Engineering program. These students were divided into two groups: the first focused on designing projects based on convolutional neural networks (CNNs), while the second focused on leveraging previously trained models and improving code using AI tools. The results highlight the effectiveness of AI tools in stimulating creativity, increasing productivity, and deepening students’ understanding of complex programming concepts. Finally, this chapter highlights the revolutionary potential of generative AI in education, illustrating how these tools can strengthen student engagement, improve project outcomes, and enrich the overall learning experience.
