Non-functional Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors are a rare entity exhibiting a wide spectrum of behavior. Diagnosis is often incidental with CT/MRI as primary imaging modalities and endoscopic ultrasound and Somatostatin Receptor PET as useful adjuncts. Surveillance with serum Chromogranin A is routine. Observation may be appropriate for asymptomatic lesions under 1-2 cm; however, surgery whether open or minimally invasively remains the standard of care for larger and symptomatic tumors.

摘要

Non-functional Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors are a rare entity exhibiting a wide spectrum of behavior. Diagnosis is often incidental with CT/MRI as primary imaging modalities and endoscopic ultrasound and Somatostatin Receptor PET as useful adjuncts. Surveillance with serum Chromogranin A is routine. Observation may be appropriate for asymptomatic lesions under 1-2 cm; however, surgery whether open or minimally invasively remains the standard of care for larger and symptomatic tumors.
