Ethical Attempts for One Health Approaches
摘要
This chapter reviews the still pristine ethical discussion within the different One Health approaches. Calls for incorporating ethics have been present in the approaches since approximately 2009. In this chapter, I will thematically present ethical frameworks proposed within scientific texts from the One Health approaches, during the period covered from 2004 up to June 2023. Therefore, this Chapter provides an overview of the field, along with brief analyses of suggested frameworks that could be useful for further exploration in upcoming chapters. The frameworks selected for the following chapters of this book were Principlism, Biophilia, Capability Approach, Four Principles of Animal Ethics, and the Land Ethic. Other ethical perspectives to consider in further chapters were ethics of care and feminism, pluralism, and acknowledgement of Indigenous peoples’ value systems.
