Office-based laryngeal surgery has transformed laryngology practice over the last two decades. The introduction of a flexible endoscope with a working channel and the use of glass fibers for the delivery of lasers allowed a significant number of procedures to be performed in an office setting [1]. This reform in practice has spared the patient the risk of general anesthesia and the morbidity of suspension microlaryngoscopy, and has shortened the recovery period following surgery [2]. In addition, it has improved the time efficiency of physicians and patients and has contained costs, which is a major concern in healthcare expenditure. Various laryngeal procedures are performed in an office setting under local anesthesia. These include laryngeal biopsy, laser therapy, injection laryngoplasty, and injection of botulinum toxin, among other pharmaceutical products [3–5].
