Custom AI Ethics and Literacy Frameworks (Phase 4)
摘要
As Artificial Intelligence (AI), particularly Generative AI (GenAI), increasingly integrates within Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) worldwide, developing comprehensive AI literacy (Chap. 17 ) and robust ethical frameworks is paramount for long-term sustainability and effective AI Governance. This chapter provides the foundational understanding for these endeavors, ensuring technologies are harnessed responsibly and equitably. Entering Phase 4 of the AI integration journey—Long-Term Scaling, Sustainability & AI Governance—this chapter focuses on enduring ethical coherence and operational sustainability over five to ten years. A central aim is to empower HEIs globally to use LLMs/GenAI as strategic partners. This involves institutions tailoring timelines and strategies to their unique sociocultural contexts (Carmody-Bubb, 2023), engaging diverse stakeholders to identify appropriate tools and outcomes aligned with their mission and values. This aligns with this book’s philosophy of leveraging human-centric frameworks (see HAICS Guide) and GenAI as strategic partners for tailored, not prescriptive, solutions. The Workbook Prep sections throughout this chapter are integral for directing users to the PALS and UX workbooks, where they can ethically and effectively search, find, explore, and create tools, solutions, and UODs that align with their unique needs and sociocultural contexts.
