Fractured Ribs
摘要
Rib fractures are common and often associated with significant morbidity. When pain is not treated, these patients may develop atelectasis. STUMBL chest scoring system is predicts morbidity and mortality. We need to implement analgesic pathways using a multimodal analgesia approach promptly. Several drugs have been described for analgesia. Various regional anesthesia techniques have been described to provide adequate analgesia. Thoracic epidurals used to be the Gold standard. With the advent of ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia techniques, serratus anterior plane block, ESPB, and TPVB have emerged as equally potent but safer alternatives. We have described various analgesia strategies in patients with fractured ribs.
