Factors Affecting IoT Antenna Bandwidth
摘要
This paper systematically presents the influence of various physical parameters on the bandwidth of an antenna integrated onto a PCB (printed circuit board). Using a Vector Network Analyzer (VNA), the impact of individual components as well as the dimensions of the PCB on the antenna’s performance and bandwidth is examined. The primary focus is to demonstrate how the dimensions of the PCB can affect the antenna’s bandwidth [1]. Additionally, considering that antenna matching is necessary for a given frequency, an analysis of different types of components used for impedance matching is also conducted. This study provides insights into which parameters and modifications have the most significant impact on antenna performance and, consequently, on the signal range of IoT (Internet of Things) devices integrating this type of antenna [2]. Particular attention is given to the accuracy of the obtained data, as careful calibration and mitigation of surrounding interference are crucial in such measurements. Accordingly, high-quality connectors and cables were used to ensure the highest possible measurement accuracy [3].
