Africa is experiencing rapid change, and environmental concerns are becoming more prevalent and significant than before. However, one of the biggest challenges in addressing these issues is the lack of effective communication between policymakers, scientists, and the public. Implementing policies and recommendations that support increased public engagement and communication is essential to effectively address these environmental communication challenges. This chapter focuses on policies and recommendations that can be implemented in order to enhance public engagement and communication regarding environmental concerns. The first part of the chapter discusses policies, followed by recommendations, and ends with a discussion on future directions of sustainable environmental communication.
