Rethinking Online Judges: Usability Insights from Introductory Programming Students
摘要
Online judges have become increasingly common in programming education. However, many of these tools focus on competitive programming, which can reduce engagement, especially among beginners. This paper introduces a novel educational tool and evaluates its usability across four undergraduate programs, involving 118 students. The study examines students’ perceptions during their initial programming experiences. Results indicate high usability but reveal potential challenges for students from non-computing disciplines. Lessons learned and directions for future development in programming education are discussed.
