Vaping and Its Adverse Effects on Health
摘要
There is growing concern among healthcare providers about the safety of vaping, despite being advertised as a safe smoking habit. Different position statements by various health authorities indicate that e-cigarette use has adverse effects on various systems in the body, such as the neurologic, respiratory, cardiovascular, and gastrointestinal systems. The otolaryngologic manifestations of e-cigarette use are also numerous. These include dizziness, dry mouth, sore throat, sinonasal symptoms, and a change in voice quality. This chapter reviews the adverse effects of e-cigarettes on the well-being of smokers with a focus on the ear, nose, and throat manifestations.
