With progress in time the civilization started the domestication of wild varieties of plants and farming turned source of food and feed. The subsequent growing of crop plants suffered with multiple shortcomings that need to be overcome. The tasks were resolved timely and research on contemporary crop issues brought novel varieties that withstand the resistant species with high yields. The findings of studies of genes and molecular level revolutionized the farming systems with enhanced output by using new breeds of plants that resist pathogens and pests. The reports on crop improvements are topic interest from generations that developed hybrid varieties for numerous phenomes as per the climatic conditions. There are several techniques introduced to improve crop yields in adverse habitats, i.e., classical breeding, application of induced mutations, transgenesis, gene editing, and gene silencing. The gene silencing use of RNA interference is one among the fruitful approach to develop tolerant crop varieties that effectively overcome the burden of pests and pathogens. This chapter covers the different disciplines of RNAi that contributed to get better application in field of new breeding techniques.
