The Technical Hybridization of the Multi-layer Façade Systems
摘要
The study examines the criteria for the integrated, combined and interactive development of multi-layered façade systems, consisting of the projection of performance and environmental modes beyond the main perimeter sections. The analysis is based on the possibilities of composition of different types of screens and external devices capable of increasing both the thermal, hygrometric, lighting and acoustic functions, as well as the perceptive and expressive contents. In this context, technical hybridization processes aim at the definition of façade modules with adjustable or fixed applications, based on the design and construction possibilities of frameworks and supports extending outside the façade curtains: these are directed at supporting multiple levels of layering and execution, calibrated according to climatic and environmental loads, through specific surface treatments. The hybridization techniques are configured through the work of aggregation against prefabricated unit system components, by which the efficiency of the work of mechanical arrangement, the definition of technical interfaces and the specific resolution of connection and operation processes is determined. On this basis, the study considers the architectural, performance and construction outcomes resulting from the technical hybridization of envelope systems, focusing on the typologies of profiles, connectors and material adaptability of external surfaces (in terms of results achievable through both customized solutions and mass-produced elements). The analysis also aims to demonstrate the potential for technology transfer from experimental implementation to application in conventional construction: the executive and constructive in-depth study, using functional and structural models, aims to enhance the development of hybrid façade types and the criteria for design and production processing, as well as the options for interaction with the needs of interior spaces and external environmental visualization.
