The effects of disaster and climate change add to these threats. Having said the complex relationship of disasters, climate change, and sustainability, this requires an extensive understanding of the causes, vulnerabilities, and the possible action toward resilience building. Considering these issues, this chapter explores various dimensions of disasters, climate change, and sustainability in South Asia. The chapter further examines the key challenges and proposes potential solutions toward a more resilient and sustainable future for the region. To fully understand how disasters and climate change affect the livelihood, it is important to look at how many factors affect the vulnerabilities in the region. The chapter also takes into account the socioeconomic and political factors that affect vulnerability and resilience.
