The fundamental fluid dynamic properties of rough wall turbulent pipe flow and boundary layers are described. The Law of the Wall is presented for incompressible and compressible flows, together with the roughness function \(\Delta U^+\) . Townsend’s similarity hypothesis for rough wall turbulent flows is described.
