An In-Depth Review of Mathematical Modeling’s Journey and Applications in Computer Science

Right at the core of contemporary computers is math modelling. It changes how algorithms come to life, improves system performance, and helps solve those challenging computational problems—not only a collection of formulas. I dug into about 8274 research articles—yes, that many—to track the development of these models, where they are currently hanging out, and speculate about what might be next. Simple numerical tricks gave way early on to elegant machine learning methods and even quantum simulations. Along the road, problems arise: models can become unmanageable, computations aren’t always flawless, and linking lab ideas to the real world isn’t a stroll in the park. Most of the time, academics hint at a future with mix-and-match techniques, artificial intelligence-assisted modelling, and exascale computer advances. All things considered, math modelling drives advancement in real-world technology as well as pure theory in many different disciplines.
