This chapter introduces the transdisciplinary concept of ‘levels of reality’ as a framework for understanding and knowing the modern legal world as a plural system, stratified both ontologically and epistemologically. Legal norms do not operate in a vacuum; they are co-produced by text, institutions, technology, society, symbols and future projections. An effective new methodology emerges, offering law the possibility to overcome pacing problems and become a relational science, capable of projecting reality through normative design and transdisciplinary modelling. At the forefront are the axiological, technological, ontological and epistemological visions of the norm, bringing the field into a laboratory of the future, where interpretation is replaced by normative imagination and epistemic responsibility.
