Institutions play a pivotal role in shaping the lives of people. Institutions are the supervisors who formulate policies, schemes, allocate funds, ensure smooth functioning and achieving timely targets of schemes and bring innovations that can significantly change the lives of thousands of families. However, building a climate-resilient framework and promoting efficient water use practices is challenging due to limited infrastructures and uncertain climate change. This chapter underscores the institution’s role in the development of Kangra Valley and ends up with suggestions to foster practical solutions. This study reveals institutions interfere often limit community participation. However, the study suggests a synergistic effort for sustainable development of the Kangra Valley of Himachal Pradesh.
