In this chapter, we first describe three philosophical views of happiness, namely hedonic happiness (life of pleasure), prudential happiness (life of engagement), and perfectionist happiness (life of meaning). We boil down these three philosophical views to two psychological concepts: hedonic wellbeing and eudaimonic wellbeing and we contrast these two major concepts of wellbeing.
