Executive Pay and Economic Disparity: A Critical Analysis of Equity, Governance, and Corporate Performance
摘要
In the current economic landscape, executive pay has become one of the most contentious social policy and corporate governance issues. As the growing gap between executives’ and regular employees’ pay widens, questions of core fairness, business ethics, and overall impacts on organizational performance and social bonding emerge. This essay explores the historical evolution of executive compensation, emphasizing the influence of globalization, liberal market economies, and the accumulation of corporate power. It evaluates the contention that enormous wages are required to purchase and maintain skills in competitive environments and measuring growing controversy surrounding out-of-proportion pay packages and their impact on employee morale, income differences, and internal fairness. The research continues to discuss the role played by regulatory mechanisms and governance procedures in shaping executive compensation and promoting transparency. This study seeks to provide insight into whether current executive remuneration structures are consistent with the ideals of performance-based remuneration and social responsibility.
