摘要
The study aims to identify the extent of legal protection women receive from domestic violence under Bahraini legislation, including its various branches that address the issue of violence against women in light of the Kingdom of Bahrain taking important initiatives to protect women and ensure their safety, Law No. (17) of 2015 was issued regarding protection from domestic violence, which aims to protect all family members in order to ensure a safe environment that guarantees healthy growth for its members. The Supreme Council for Women also launched the “National Strategy to Protect Women from Domestic Violence” in 2015. The strategy seeks to secure and enhance the rights of Bahraini women and combat all forms of violence against them, including domestic violence. The study followed the descriptive analytical approach by explaining and analyzing the texts of both the Law on Protection from Domestic Violence and the Bahraini Penal Code, related to the provisions for protection from violence against women. The study concluded with several results, the most prominent of which is that the Bahraini legislator has established two types of criminal protection for women from domestic violence: the first is substantive protection, and the second is procedural protection. The study also concluded with recommendations related to strengthening legal protection for women from domestic violence.
