The Role of Blockchain Technology in Protecting Intellectual Property: Legal Perspective and Future Challenges
摘要
The shift to digital has revealed major weaknesses in how intellectual property (IP) is traditionally managed especially when it comes to dealing with piracy, unauthorized sharing, and enforcement issues. This study looks into how blockchain technology could be used to better protect IP rights in today’s digital world. It points out how blockchain can help by creating secure, tamper-proof records of ownership, using smart contracts to enforce agreements, and automating how licenses and royalties are handled. It also dives into some of the technical and legal hurdles, such as challenges with data storage, conflicts between blockchain’s permanence and legal takedown requests, and the need for wider legal acceptance. In the end, the study calls for updates to laws and regulations to make it easier to integrate blockchain into IP protection systems.
