One of the most vulnerable points of existing reinforced concrete (RC) structures is represented by beam-column joints, in particular external un-confined joints. RC beam- column joints are very critical areas in the case of seismic actions, as they are called to transfer load actions to beams and columns and to ensure a considerable shear capacity. In addition, the seismic response of the joint panels greatly influences the response of the entire structural system, in terms of strength and deformability. This paper aims to assess the behaviour of RC beam-column joints under seismic actions and their potential retrofitting techniques with innovative low invasiveness techniques, as external wrapping with green composite materials. A specific experimental set up is here proposed for the investigation of RC beam-column joints under seismic actions. Experimental tests have been carried out on a real scale beam-column joint, first statically damaged and then strengthened with Basalt-FRP. The behaviour of RC specimens was analysed and discussion on experimental results is provided.

摘要
