Intro: Scaffolding Arguments for Institutional Legitimacy and Trust—Moral Casting in Justifications by Governing Politicians
摘要
Democracy is a multidimensional concept which can be approached and defined in many ways. Living in a democratic political system subsumes several forms of democratic engagements. From the perspective of social theory, there are parallel frameworks for democratic principles and activities co-existing in cultural practices. The empirical chapters of the book are divided into three sections, each of which is exploring a particular type of public arena for political communication, each embodying different argumentative set-ups, institutional goals and ideals of democratic action. The communicative environment in each particular setting makes the dynamic of moral casting and also the persuasive effort with identifications slightly different.
