Inner Source, Outer Source, Low Code, and No Code: Pros, Cons and Contexts - Results from an MLR
摘要
Software development has evolved significantly, with new paradigms such as low-code and no-code platforms enabling users with minimal or no technical expertise to build applications. These platforms simplify development through visual interfaces and automation, reducing the need for traditional programming. Concurrently, open-source principles have influenced software collaboration through inner source and outer source models. Inner source applies open-source methodologies within an organisation, while outer source extends development efforts beyond company boundaries, including outsourcing and open-source contributions. This paper explores the benefits, risks, and implementation strategies of these emerging software development models, providing insights into their impact on modern software engineering.
