Laboratory Installation for Wire Fatigue Testing
摘要
Fatigue failure of parts is widespread in mechanical engineering. Fatigue damage accumulation is a significant problem for many parts. Fatigue tests requires high-precision device. This work analyzes the design features of the installation for wire fatigue testing, and formulates tasks for improving the design of the baseline comparison option. A feature of the wire fatigue tests is that it is complicated to secure the samples and create the alternate stresses. Currently, there is a lack of equipment to investigate the fatigue strength of wire to meet the high demands of the industry. An original method for changing stresses in a sample according to an alternating cycle has been proposed, and the unit for determining the number of cycles until sample failure has been significantly modernized. The effectiveness of the development of a new installation was assessed according to the following quality indicators: operational – technical and ergonomic, as well as reliability indicators. The results of fatigue tests of wire are presented, fatigue curves are constructed for wire made of steel 80. Carrying out fatigue tests on a new installation makes it possible to reduce the coefficient of variation of experimental data by 1.5…1.6 times and, therefore, increase the repeatability of the results.
