Coda: Bleeding Ladies: Courtly Love and the Modern Horror Film
摘要
The coda to the book looks at the after-life of courtly love in modern horror films. In films by F. W. Murnau, Fritz Lang, and Alfred Hitchcock, the violence sublimated in medieval romances is played out in a more overt and explicit form. This is particularly evident in Hitchcock’s masterpieces “Psycho” and “The Birds” where the director’s obsession with his leading actresses turns into murderous violence toward the characters they play.
