Electrocorticography (ECoG) is a valuable part of the presurgical evaluation in epilepsy surgery candidates. In this chapter, the role of extraoperative ECoG in the (presurgical) workup for epilepsy surgery is discussed, focusing on indications, strengths, and limitations as well as the features that distinguish extraoperative from intraoperative ECoG.
