From the overview of the previously published works, it was explored that researchers made efforts to ascertain the behaviour of building supported on MVFPS with variable radii of sliding surface under near-fault ground shakings. In the current investigation, a detailed evaluation has been conducted on one storey building supported on MVFPS–VFBI. To analyse the building supported on MVFPS–VFBI, Newmark’s linear acceleration method was used. Also, comparisons between MVFPS–VFPI and MVFPS–VFBI to examine the effects of radii of sliding surface on the results of such building are carried out. It is revealed that in the MVFPS–VFBI, isolator displacement is lesser as compared to MVFPS–VFPI whereas base shear and absolute acceleration of top floor are greater.
