The Role of Religious Knowledge on the Relationship Between Financial Knowledge and Debt Decision-Making

Debt decision-making is one of the financial decisions to obtain funding sources to meet business capital needs. Making debt decisions requires careful calculation and consideration, including the impacts and risks that will be in the future. This research aims to examine the influence of financial knowledge on decision-making and the influence of religious knowledge on debt decision-making and to determine the moderation of religious knowledge on the relationship between financial knowledge and debt decision-making. This research is a quantitative research method that uses primary data by distributing structured questionnaires to respondents. The population in this research are Muslim MSME entrepreneurs in the culinary sector in Pekanbaru City. Questionnaires were distributed to 200 entrepreneurs using convenience sampling techniques. Data analysis in this study used Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) via SmartPLS software. The research results show that financial knowledge and religious knowledge influence debt decision-making. In addition, the research results show that religious knowledge moderates the influence of financial knowledge on debt decision-making.
