In this chapter, we will use the language of Galilei manifolds and connections developed previously to introduce and discuss ‘classical’ Newton–Cartan gravity, i.e. the version of the theory presented by Künzle [6], Ehlers [2, 3], and Malament [7, Chap. 4]. We will see how to recover the usual formulation of Newtonian gravity, and explore the connection to GR.
