Digitalization is, of course, a topic of high importance in the Austrian administration. In the Federation, the interfaces between the Federal and Länder administrations are also of interest, which is even more significant as authorities of the Länder in Austria execute federal laws. In such a situation, the federal government also depends on the administration of the states and their digitalization standards. As a result, differences in digital equipment in the individual states can easily lead to differences in implementation that are not easy for citizens to understand. This became particularly evident during the COVID-19 pandemic.
