What if teachers and students could benefit from AI-powered technology enhanced learning from traditional classrooms rather than needing to be in a lab? This demo presents a step towards that idea by introducing Escreva Mais, a mobile application that delivers AI-based features and learning analytics to teachers through low-cost devices like a smartphone. By implementing the Artificial Intelligence in Education Unplugged (AIEDU) paradigm, Escreva Mais enables teachers to benefit from Automatic Essay Scoring by simply taking a picture of a student’s essay, then presents on-device learning analytics, as well as detailed, PDF-based reports, which provide insights on student performance along with personalized feedback and instruction to address learning needs as well as acknowledge strong skills. Hence, even those resource-constrained classrooms with no technological infrastructure beyond a smartphone can benefit from well-established interventions, such as automatic writing assessment, feedback provision, and personalized learning, that have proven to enhance student writing skill development.
