An incredible adaptability, high fecundity, and rapid dispersal mechanisms have enabled Lantana camara to colonize a myriad of habitats and ecosystems and then extend into agricultural land. This chapter focuses on the good and bad aspects of Lantana camara in agroecosystems. In this chapter, its impacts and implications in agricultural activity; considering both the adverse impacts and the benefits (which are less commonly noted but still limited) of Lantana camara in agriculture will be discussed. The literature associated with ecological impacts and the allelopathic effects of Lantana camara and any known or potential effects on livestock will be examined. Lastly, the current management strategies implemented by agricultural managers to manage Lantana camara in agricultural systems will be reviewed.
