The following literary works will be analysed here:The selection of these five works is explained, on the one hand, by the fact that the interactions between law and society that they portray are of particular interest for an interdisciplinary counterfactual investigation and, on the other hand, by the endeavour to transcend criminal law—which is traditionally overrepresented in the literature—by including new areas of law such as the fight against terrorism, family and asylum law, Talmudic law, and customary law.
