Progress Roadmap and Information Hub for Purdue University Fort Wayne Student Success
摘要
This research addresses the challenges universities face in enhancing student success, particularly in academic performance, retention, and overall well-being. In alignment with developing a comprehensive student success life cycle, Purdue University Fort Wayne has conducted meetings across departments to foster collaboration and to create standardized processes that enhance student experience. A prototype of a new website has been designed, and reviewed by students to ensure their needs are met and inputs are incorporated. Although initial feedback from students and faculty has been positive, the effectiveness of the tool is yet to be validated through comprehensive before-and-after comparisons. Preliminary insights from the case study suggest that adopting a holistic approach that addresses both academic and non-academic factors leads to improvements in student success. This comprehensive approach seeks to improve the overall student experience, well-being, and academic outcomes, and, in turn, results in higher retention rates, graduation success, and career opportunities for students. However, challenges such as funding limitations and varying student needs persist, underscoring the necessity for ongoing assessment and adaptation of the roadmap’s standard processes. This case study contributes to understanding of effective strategies in higher education and highlights the value of comprehensive support systems to promote student success.
