As the title suggests, the third chapter focuses on the realities of how a qubit behaves in a laboratory setting in the real world (Fig. 3.1). The many types of non-idealities that one encounters are described and modeled mathematically. A tutorial is provided for countering decoherence and errors with dynamical decoupling, and error correction techniques are also covered.
