Bandwidth Burning: A Mechanism Against Whitewashing Attacks in BitTorrent-Like p2p File-Sharing Systems
摘要
We present bandwidth burning, a form of resource burning, as a mechanism against whitewashing in BitTorrent-like peer-to-peer (p2p) file-sharing systems. Bandwidth burning imposed additional costs on attackers without putting a significant overhead on honest users. Under our proposed game-theoretic model, we showed that whitewashing is a dominated strategy. Numerical and simulation results showed the effectiveness of our proposed approach.
