Astronautics (or cosmonautics) is the practice of sending spacecraft beyond Earth’s atmosphere into outer space . Spaceflight is one of its main applications. The energy that the Earth receives from the cosmos is made up of the energy that comes from the Sun in the form of ultraviolet, visible, and infrared radiation and from the energy of cosmic rays.
