The conducted study focuses on the issue of preparing future teachers to use open educational resources (OER) in their professional activities. It has been determined that fostering the need to use OER in future professional practice can be achieved through the widespread application of such resources during university training, the organization of project-based and independent work, the assignment of additional creative tasks, and through teaching practice. Based on the results of surveys conducted among students and practicing teachers, recommendations have been formulated to enhance the effectiveness of student training using OER. The survey results suggest that higher education institutions should intentionally develop the knowledge, skills, and competencies required for the use of OER in professional activities while preparing future teachers. It is also advisable to encourage future teachers to create their own OER during their university studies by organizing various competitions, contests, creative projects, and similar activities.
