The publication analyzes the impact of open science on the transformation of methodologies and tools for evaluating scientists’ activities. An essential aspect of implementing the principles of open science is the reform of the system for assessing scientific results in Ukraine. Open science and its tools have had a global impact, altering international approaches to evaluating the effectiveness of scientific activity, including: providing open and free access to scientific publications and data; introducing open peer review of scientific results; changes in research methodologies; encouraging researchers to continually improve their skills, particularly in open science; applying new methods and tools for analyzing and evaluating scientific outcomes, among others. It is essential to leverage the experience and recommendations of organizations, associations, and projects (such as cOAlition S, OpenAIRE, COST, OPTIMA, and Open4UA) that actively promote open science principles and standardize criteria and indicators for evaluating the work of scientists, research teams, and universities. The article describes and systematizes criteria and indicators for assessing scientists’ professional activities and outlines open science tools that can be used to validate the reliability of these evaluations.
