Worldwide Ethnic Considerations for Cosmetic and Personal Care Products
摘要
This chapter deals with the various ethnic peoples worldwide. It limits itself to those having religious dietary restrictions and how it impacts their daily lives. This includes their choice of cosmetics and personal care products. This chapter concentrates on the Islamic, Jewish, Jains, Buddhist, and peoples of color other than Caucasians or white skinned individuals. It details what and why certain ingredients are forbidden. It also demonstrates the need for forensic proof that the ingredients are not contaminated or adulterated prior to incorporation into any cosmetic or personal care products. It also provides information as to why certain ingredients for cosmetics and personal care products must be excluded during certain religious holidays occurring throughout the year. It contains a skin-coloring system which was devised to aid in preparing or manufacturing cosmetic and personal care products for people of color. This technology has provided the industry a better means to serve the needs of people of color.
