This chapter introduces the central focus of the book: the growing importance of libraries in entrepreneurship support and the expanding opportunities offered by AI technologies. It articulates five research questions addressing business support services, AI adoption, co-creation, experimentation, Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E), and practical AI tools. The chapter outlines the motivations for this research and highlights the need for structured approaches that help libraries integrate AI responsibly and strategically for strengthening their business support services. It sets the direction for the book by offering a cohesive framework for understanding AI within library-based entrepreneurship support. The chapter also identifies the theoretical, methodological, and practical implications for libraries to position them as active, innovation-oriented contributors within entrepreneurial ecosystems.
