Imaging methods, which started with the discovery of X-rays in 1895 and progressed day by day, are frequently used in dentistry to diagnose and treat patients’ diseases by recording and storing images. Thanks to advancing technologies, conventional methods have been replaced by digital imaging. Digital imaging offers valuable clues to physicians. In this chapter, intraoral radiographic imaging, extraoral radiographic imaging, computed tomography, cone beam computed tomography, ultrasonography, and magnetic resonance imaging are explained with case presentations.

摘要

Imaging methods, which started with the discovery of X-rays in 1895 and progressed day by day, are frequently used in dentistry to diagnose and treat patients’ diseases by recording and storing images. Thanks to advancing technologies, conventional methods have been replaced by digital imaging. Digital imaging offers valuable clues to physicians. In this chapter, intraoral radiographic imaging, extraoral radiographic imaging, computed tomography, cone beam computed tomography, ultrasonography, and magnetic resonance imaging are explained with case presentations.
