Evidence-Based Decision-Making in the Restoration of Natural Dentition

The restoration of pulpless teeth remains a controversial topic. This chapter emphasizes the uniqueness of restoring endodontically treated teeth and highlights some important principles to be observed. It has been proven that diminishing the amount of remaining tooth structure and interfering with the apical seal of the endodontic filling are detrimental to long-term successful restoration, indicating the core material to be used, restoration type and timing, related or not to posts, ferrule importance, etc.
